Looking for an automotive repair shop is like searching for a pair of pants that fits just right. Ironwood is that pair of pants you've been hunting for. They're a fantastic and trustworthy shop that after only 3 visits I know I will be coming back here as long as I am in RVA. From fixing an alignment that another shop said wasn't possible to do, to having warm and inviting staff members. I can't imagine another shop in the Richmond area that is worth going to.

Very polite, professional, and fast execution.  I greatly appreciate the diag the tech that had looked at my Tundra did.  I had my suspicion about another shop had told me a crazy diag and also an astronomical price for the fix that was totally a lie and made up. This shop has my business from now going forward. The service caller was very understanding, and had great listings skills as well. He could definitely tell when I needed to speak to get things off my chest about the prior situation. He also listened to my thoughts and never said anything negative about my concerns or opinions. I can not thank y'all enough. I love my truck, and I know all my vehicles will be in good hands. These people are excellent. They’re friendly, responsible, helpful, notify you by text or phone call on the progress of your automobile and when it is done. It is the cleanest automotive place I have ever by far. Their prices are reasonable. Battery exploded and they replaced the positive wire and battery and for very cheap they also pressure washed and did an oil change to see where my oil leak is coming from bc my car burns oil. 10/10 experience, fairly priced, very chill people. This is my go-to shop from now on.

I've been taking my 2005 Toyota to Ironwood Automotive in Scott's Addition most of this year for oil changes, brakes, and other maintenance. Every visit was easy, no pressure, no surprises on the bill.
Recently the car started overheating and I brought it in not knowing what to expect. Turns out it traced back to some radiator work they'd done a few months prior. A fan that hadn't been reconnected properly. Before I even had to ask, Michael G. told me straight up what they found, took full responsibility, and said there'd be no charge for the diagnostic or anything else. Didn't make it weird, didn't try to bury it. Just handled it.

That's not something you forget. Most places would've found a way to make that your problem. These guys didn't blink.

The whole shop runs that way. They explain what's actually going on, they're upfront about what can wait and what can't, and you never feel like you're being worked over. Clean space too, which sounds minor until you've sat in enough grimy waiting rooms.

Did my state inspection here. The building is easy to find, clean, and very aesthetically pleasing. They offer free beverages and coffee, a tv with Bob Ross painting and free wifi. I brought my car in for a pre-trip inspection before a long highway journey. They went through brakes, tires, fluids, lights, and suspension in a very detailed way. I liked that they didn’t rush the process and actually showed me a few issues instead of just listing them. Wiper blades were worn and coolant was slightly low, so I chose to replace only those. They weren’t pushy about anything extra. The car felt ready for the trip and I had no issues on the road afterward. Staff explained each check clearly without technical confusion. Price was reasonable for full inspection service. Turnaround time was about an hour. Satisfied with readiness.
